SPF, DKIM and DMARC: What They Do and How to Configure Them

A practical explanation of email authentication records and how to configure them correctly for your domain.

SPF, DKIM and DMARC are DNS records used to authenticate email from your domain.

SPF lists the servers allowed to send mail for your domain. DKIM adds a cryptographic signature. DMARC tells receiving servers what to do when authentication fails.

Correct configuration does not guarantee inbox placement, but missing or incorrect records often contribute to delivery problems.
